In 1793 there were 34,436 constituents per representative. In 1913 when it hit 435 it was 1 rep per 210,583 constituents. Today it's almost 700,000 per rep. -- nm

FWIW in Canada it ranges from 35k per (because of a Constitutional requirement) up to 110k or so. -- nm
