no. I'm saying it didn't feel current somehow I just can't place. even the flashbacks seemed very ... old.

maybe the town was just poorly imagined by the art director?

It was the dialogue a lot for me (diary entries were awful, almost Women's Entertainment Channel level). But the pacing and plot too. Good 90s.

Also, I went in thinking this was an Affleck-directed movie, and even after seeing Fincher's name I could still tell that it wasn't, just on style.
