I'm not the Court watcher that you are, but isn't the downside of their decision is that now they're going to make all the other states go through the

process of passing gay marriage or having their marriage laws challenged by lawsuits (which involves a lot time and wasted costs that could have been avoided)? Or will states simply not contest the legal challenges because it would be a waste of time? I could see more conservative states saying they'll fight it regardless.
