Puzzlement of the morning. I mentioned to the young man at the market meat counter that it seemed steaks were being cut much thinner than usual....

His response was with the higher price of beef they have to do that to reach the price point? So I can have a plate sized pound of steak that cooks up like leather or a smaller one that tastes like steak?

- It's expensive at one time but to get a quarter side of beef cut to order is a lot cheaper on a per pound basis. -- nm - droidlet Oct 8, 18:01
