I am no expert, other than trying a lot of varying diets, but I know that

your body reacts to these changes, and many times they will result in some weight loss, sometimes quick. But long term, I think your bodies need some of all of the things that are in food.

I tell the story often of the ex girlfriend who was on atkins for months, and finally her gall bladder exploded. (not really an exaggeration.)
