I'm looking at apartments in Brooklyn but I'm not likely moving until the spring at the earliest. I'm also looking in Manhattan but mostly Inwood and the UES where there's still some affordable apartments.

Yeah, for downtown Brooklyn it's very much like that. Go just a bit deeper and it's still like it's always been, working class families.

Agreed. The cost of living in Brooklyn, no matter what part, is just out of control. My friend makes good money and wants to buy in Brooklyn but

Sadly, you're right. When the Times and other places talk about Brooklyn they mean Williamsburg, Park Slope and other areas with wealthy white people
