I want to know what happens to the natural world in a zombie apocalypse. Why no huge flocks of carrion birds?

They make a big deal of Darryl hunting rabbits and squirrels but why doesn't anyone carry a fishing pole?

And thinking about birds, why have we seen so many manners of rifles and pistols, but no shotguns? And is there only one sword in the entire state of Georgia? If so, shouldn't it have a name?

I've got a lot of questions.
