below reminds me - yesterday, I saw one of the most privacy-invading requests for an app pemission I've ever seen. for AT&T users, Trove app.

a curated news feed that won't hit your data until May.

in return for that, you have to give permission for them to see info about wifi networking, including the names of connected wifi devices; and, worse, call information - the phone number, device ID, whether a call is active, and the number connected to.

the heck? why would they *need* to see the number of who you're talking with?
