I and a few friends made five predictions last week ...
|
Mine were ...
#1 - The Republican leadership of the U.S. Senate reverts to a neutral position on filibuster reform and the nuclear option (or goes all the way to supporting the Merkley/Udall reforms proposed over the past two years).
#2 - The Republican leadership of both chambers of Congress (and Sen. Mitch McConnell especially) calls on Democratic members to cooperate in problem-solving, rather than stonewalling.
#3 - The Obama Administration announces that more American military forces will be sent back to Iraq/Afghanistan to help combat the growing spread and influence of ISIS (or "ISIL" under State Department lingo) and Khorasan.
#4 - "Sources close to Senator ______________" say that Senator ____________ is considering a challenge to Sen. Harry Reid for the position of Minority Leader.
#5 - The media will whip up a frenzy of speculation over whether Sen. Elizabeth Warren will announce her candidacy and start casting the race as "Warren vs. Clinton"
