Has anyone here used a Magic Bullet blender for pureeing hot foods? If so, did you use the regular cup or the blender cup?

I just tried pureeing black beans that had been cooking in the crock pot for hours, along with a little water. (The recipe for black bean soup said to puree half of the mix and add it back into the crock pot.)

I used one of the regular cups, not the blender cup. Not even a second after I pressed down on the cup to start pureeing, I had nearly-boiling hot soup on my face. The blade attachment separated from the cup and the contents exploded all.over.the place. (floor, table, cabinets, my face and arms) Nothing looks cracked or broken, it looks like it was a clean separation.

I'm wondering if I shouldn't have had hot liquids in the regular cup, only for use in the blender cup? I looked at the instructions online and I didn't see anything indicating that I couldn't use the standard cups for hot liquids.

What do you use for pureeing hot stuff?
