He's too underhanded, and twirly mustache, secretly evil.
I think he's a bad guy with a ethical code. He feels he's above certain villains.
I'm not buying him as Barry. I think he's more like Sam Jackson in Unbreakable - causing destruction to make his nemesis and give him purpose. I also think that the particle explosion was intended to make the other villains, too. Not just make The Flash. With one of those villains possibly being Dr. Well's younger self.
