Another job well done. I've swapped out a HDD with an SDD on our 21" Sony Vaio tablet.

The hardest part by far is the cloning of the hard drive. You want something that's free. Most "trial" software won't give you the functionality you need. And some of those that work can't clone to an SSD because the SSD is going to be smaller than the HDD and the software can't resize the partition properly. In short: Macrium Reflect.
After that, it was simply a matter of opening up the machine, removing the old hard drive and adding the new hard drive. It took me a bit longer because I found a spare 2 GB of RAM that I added to the woefully inadequate 4 GB currently in the machine. And I learned long ago that you do upgrades one at a time.
Anyway, a 90+ second boot up is now 17 seconds long. That's monumental.
