I'm still too low a level in certain areas to really mess with anyone. Until I'm able to mine more wood and sulfur I'll have to focus on what I can and that's research thanks to the crystal island and building thanks to the marble island.
Though I'm looking forward to becoming much more militaristic in the future.

It was a hard choice between sulfur and marble but I figured the best things was to follow your advice and keep my hideout and other defenses high. My wall is currently one level below my town hall, I'd like to keep them even but it's rather costly to upgrade as compared to other buildings.
My hideouts are level 6 and level 7 and I'm always looking to upgrade them.
