I did it 3 years running when I was in my 20s. It was fun then. Wouldn't do it now.

This was before Times Square was cleaned up. Got there early, went to a double feature, got something to eat, wandered around, then positioned ourselves on a corner. Shortly after the ball fell we sprinted up the side street to get one of the many cabs cruising the area and went to the Village - Spike, Crisco's. The last year there was a new club I don't remember the name of. Lots of drugs there. I was always the designated driver (we came down from western MA). At that time that just meant I didn't drink/drug as much as everyone else. Oh the stories I could tell. Good times. But then it's all good when you're that young and carefree.
