I have a ceiling fan that takes little halogen bulbs. Bought a replacement (100 W) and it's very dim.

Will a higher wattage bulb be brighter? I have an option for 150 W and a 250 W (both frosted, while the dim one is not frosted). Thoughts?

What was the wattage of the one you took out? Get the same exact ones -- nm

I thought I had. But the old bulb had some of the label worn off. -- nm

Nah. These are freakish halogen bulbs. The same that go in a car's headlights. Very different stuff, with lots of warnings. -- nm
