for kilbo, a funny handbell nightmare

I had lunch with my aunt on Sunday after she had come back from ringing bells in church. She only started a couple weeks ago when they asked her to fill in and play the D5.

"I thought, sure, I read music, I play the piano, I can do that. But your mom told me that playing one note is harder than many, and boy was she right. I've been so nervous in the last week. Last night I had a dream that I went out into the sanctuary without my robe on, ran out to get it on, but when I came back in I knocked my bell off the table. Then we couldn't find the bell, and when we did, it was missing the handle. Finally we got the handle on, but the director was so displeased with me, I woke up gasping for breath and sweating!"

But then she played perfectly, so everything is good. :) She said, "Now that I can play, the director wants us to work on appearance - smiling, arm movement." Me: "I think you need to work on being more relaxed about playing first."
