The stat being tossed around is that Pellini is Pelini becomes the first major-conference coach in at least 50 years to be fired ...

For on-field performance (rather than scandal) with never having worse than a 7-win season.

According to Bleacher Report, in the 7 years that Pelini was head coach, "Nebraska has never won fewer than nine games, finishing no better than 10-4 and no worse than 9-4."

It's the no better than 10-4 aspect, and having a distinctly losing record against ranked teams, no bowl wins, and no conference championship that folks are citing as the basis for him being fired. I'm just not convinced that these losing records are all Pelini's fault.
