Zeit: We have the dog at the University of Illinois veterinary school. The issue isn't with them running up the bill, but that these tests aren't

cheap.

We could get all our pets treated for free at the adoption facility my wife is employed by, but they aren't able to do imaging beyond x-rays. And surgically, they don't really do much beyond spay/neuter and other minor stuff. I have every confidence that the vet on staff could do a fine job with brain surgery, but probably has never had cause to do it while working at the facility.
