It's more about the small sample sizes. TCU received no boost from beating a 2-win team. Baylor and OSU played good teams.

For a 12/13 game season, that's 7-8% of the sample that improves. Baylor and TCU are better teams than OSU, and the Big 12 deserves a spot exponentially more than the Big 10, but the logic of the selection is sound. It's a better coaching match-up as well, which factors in whether anyone admits it or not.
