It looks like all the new system did was replace one type of "logic" that no one liked to another type of "logic" that no one likes.

With so many conferences and different measures of who "won" them and then a dozen other intangible variables, there's always going to be an "illogical" result that fans of the excluded teams will cry about.
Ohio State fans would have whined like babies today if they'd stayed at 5th.
