I used to think they were useless and they are *unless* you use hundreds like fodder.

I see the CRs of some of the big generals and they use them in the hundreds. I do not know if that's by choice entirely or by necessity based on the cheapness of the unit.

I probably won't keep them as part of my standing army but in times of war it might be nice to have 500 or 600 of them.
