That's consistent across AA, DL, UA. The 25K tier can only choose MCE/E+ 24 hours before the flight

(or buy it at half price in advance). And I kinda get that. 25K is a commitment, but not THAT much of a commitment to an airline, and with all of us Lifetime Gold people, the pool swells.
But DL taking it away from the 50K fliers is a kick in the pants to people who actually do dedicate themselves to an airline, especially since DL now has minimum spend requirements attached to that 50K as well.
