This feels morbid to ask, but I've wondered how jumping off a bridge into the Hudson hurts/kills you.

Is it the velocity at which you hit the water causing internal damage? Or does it knock you unconscious and then you drown?

Depending on the height of the bridge it could be like landing on concrete when you hit the water.
