I think the winner of the Democratic nomination and the Presidency depends more on how the Tea Party caucus works in Congress over the next year than who the Democratic candidates are.
If Republican leaders in Congress manage to maintain a "compassionate conservative" or "moderate conservative" image in the minds of the public, then I think just about any Republican Presidential nominee will have the advantage.
If the Tea Party caucus and their friends flout the Republican leadership and go all wing-nutty and alienate the public, then just about any Democratic Presidential nominee will have the advantage.
But you never know. My boss just came out of a campaign that no one ever suspected would ever roll out the way it did.
