I think it's dangerous to try to pin cause/effect on short-term market movements

(despite the billion dollar industry that is made of 'market experts' explaining/predicting the market)
*IF* this drop is tied to oil rather than just playing the players (i'm certainly not convinced) the logic would be that the skid in oil suggests a potential economic slowdown (i.e. if demand is dropping so hard, there has to be a reason. Uh-oh, production must be falling)
