Certainly, that's what every news report is going with.

And I guess if everyone assumes the market is going to drop on oil so they sell/short and the market drops, then the market did (sortof) drop on oil, if indirectly.
It's the old correlation/causation argument in part too.
But mostly it's just computers playing the players.
