Granted, it sounded like it was part of her job to pay attention to these things but...

The showed footage of her in public doing what looked like a very traditional act of contrition. There may have been tears. She was in what looked like a public square, alone, while being filmed.

It was the US equivalent of some white middle aged dude in a suit with his suit jacket over his head as he hurries out of a courthouse.
