I've been having a problem where my Internet service drops out intermittently for 2-10 minutes, often repeatedly in the same day. Every time I call the automated line tells me I should reboot my router (this doesn't necessarily help).
I had a tech out on Saturday. He did whatever he did. Yay, all better.
Nope.
In the past 2.5 hours, this has happened four times. Every time I call, the automated line tells me that there is no outage in my area but that my router appears to be offline and I should reboot it.
I finally say "enough of this" and talk to an agent who informs me that ......... there is an outage in my area. No service, outage has been going on for five hours. He apologizes that the automated line said there was not outage, but there is. No service in the area. Five hours.
I inform him that I was on-line five minutes prior and, in fact, had spent much of the past five hours on line. He finds this strange. He then offers to have an automated call placed to me when the outage is cleared.
No call yet about the outage being clear. I'm posting this from my home laptop, using Time Warner Cable.
