They said basically once he lost control, and re-got it that he needed to retain possession through the ground

they basically treated it as a catch at that point since he was in the air...is one interpretation I read.
Responses:
I know what the rule is for a pass, but I am really surprised that a mid-air football is treated the same.

I was very confused by the ruling on the field. Like when I first saw that tuck rule in that Raider game. I was like WTF?? -- nm

I believe any possession call has the same rule as a catch. So you must maintain possession through the play to be deemed to have it. Even on a
