I had liverwurst on a sandwich once. It tasted alright, but the texture was a little nauseating. My comment at the time was, "Like meat-flavored mayonnaise."

I'm not sure I've ever had liverwurst, but I've had braunschweiger (or however it's called). I liked it. -- nm
