I love going through the family ornaments as we put up the tree

These are ornaments that have been collected over 40+ years that my parents have been together, followed be me being born, and then my brother being born. There are ornaments for each year, ornaments for specific events milestones (Baby's first Christmas, new home, etc) and just general ornaments that think look nice or have have been favorites since we were kids.
My favorite, which always gets a prominent space on the tree, is a ceramic 'Christmas house' ornament. It's a red brick house with a chimney, a Christmas tree in the window, and smiling mouse wearing a Santa Cap. One of my 'Aunts' (my Mom's cousin) painted it as a craft once as a gift for me as a young child. She passed away very young 16 years ago :(
