In response to "I took a fresh listen to that after seeing it high on some Rolling Stone albums list. They called it a "perfect album," and I don't disagree" by con_carne

I agree that their albums basically diminish in overall quality as you go in order, but seeing them live, every song they played was good.

I have a theory that the albums have gone down in quality because the way we listen to albums has changed over that same time frame. When Ten came out, you listened to the whole album. Now you just buy songs. They stopped making radio singles, so you don't really listen the same way any more.
