yikes ... but the possibly good news is - because it was a hidden leak over time - insurance MAY still cover it

companies vary on "hidden water leaks" being eligible - it's still worth reporting it - just in case
(usually damage that isn't "sudden and accidental" is excluded ... but when you aren't aware of a leak - because it's hidden - they will sometimes cover it still)
