In response to "The Christmas Dinner Menu (and it's only the two of us this year so we'll have lots of leftovers)..." by Christmas Deeve, The Christmasing

Here's ours...

Roast lamb
Roast chicken with sausage stuffing
Sorpotel (which is a curry pork stew)
Pilau
Zucchini
Lima bean casserole
Something with potatoes

For dessert (these are already made)
Christmas cake

a bunch of Goan sweets that I have no idea how to spell:
kormboloas (pastry made with coconut milk that is twisted into a flower-bud shape and then deep fried)
neureos (deep fried empanada-like pastries) in two fillings - one made with chickpea flour and another made with grated coconut
bolinha leaves - these are like sugar cookies shaped into leaves
raisin bolinhas - these are round semolina cookies, studded
nankhatais - these are like shortbread, and flavoured with cardamom and rosewater, or cardamom and orange blossom water
bathk - a coconut cake (purists would argue is more like a pie, because it's a cake with a pastry crust)
bibik - a layered cake made by pouring a very thin layer of custard into a cake pan, broiling for 2-3 minutes and then repeating until the custard is finished. It has 15-20 layers.

I shaped the kormolas and the neureos and made the nankhatais, but my favourite is the bibik and my sister-in-law had better have made it.
