I actually employed it several times throughout the process.

Occam's Razor is that Jay is lying and framing the dude.
The Nisha phone call is the only thing that plausibly attaches him to anything, and my first instinct on that was unanswered phone call before they ever even explored that aspect.
As the detective and attorney both indicated, the reach would be that he was a perfectly normal dude whose behavior never changed at any point right up until he killed her. Then, he went right back to flirting with another woman on the phone while driving around with a dead body. It just doesn't hang.
Also, it's telling that when they showed up at Jay's house, his first comment was not "Adnan did it" but instead "Then who did?" I believe he was either worrying that he was about to be busted or that someone else was about to be exposed.
If Adnan did it, something I cannot totally discount but place at less than a 20% chance, I agree with the host that he is a brazen, cocky killer.
