With regards to motive, we just disagree. Teens break up all the time. Nobody strangles their ex and then calls a new chick with the body still in the trunk. If any policeman involved with this case came clean right now, they would admit that they didn't have a motive for any suspect and had to invent one in court. That is exactly why the story is so absorbing/depressing.
