Your headline implies I'm saying all "exes" are motivated to kill. That's not what I'm saying.

It would not be fair to look at "all" dead teenagers, but only murders of a certain type. Initially reported as a missing person, buried body, etc.
And then you'd have to expand the perp list to include other relationships so friends and parents, etc.
And then I think that yes, the conclusion would be that the vast majority of "these types" of crimes are done by someone very close to the victim.
