I think the timing is good from a campaign perspective. It gets a mention on the Sunday morning talk shows, it gets church-goers buzzing during coffee after service, gets people talking in restaurants and cafes all day tomorrow.

If he'd waited until Monday, the buzz would've worn off by next weekend. And his campaign needs every edge it can exploit.
