Max was onto something there. There's nothing more pop culture than corporations spending millions trying to make something a "thing."

While people here including myself tend to conflate pop culture with nerds on the Internet being repetitive parrots. That's more niche and, as such, not pop culture. Still, both of those pop culture delivery systems are forms of repetitive reproduction, something that's essential in making pop phenomena.
