i think you are overthinking it. people just want a few things that locals would actually know and know are interesting. (a) they won't do everything

suggested and (b) obviously they don't expect a full in-depth description of every single restaurant/attractiion/natural wonder/hotel/neighbourhood/store/architectural highlight/good view etc. just a starting point.
isn't that the POINT of those forums?
