About your bed - make sure the panel the mattress rests on is pushed all the way to the foot of the bed or you'll have dust falling into the drawers. I find the mattress slides a bit with the way I get on or off. It was annoying the first time I opened one and found crap on my clothes (stored clothes, not everyday stuff). Another thing that can prevent that is to have a spread that hangs off the end but then that changes the look of the bed. My cats like to walk back & forth on the ledge at the foot, and it helps the lazy bums get up on the bed itself.
