Sure thing. And there's always Agatha Christie, too.


She had a long interest in archaeology, which shows up in the mystery novels she wrote. I like them a lot, though her writing does occasionally reflect the stereotypes and prejudices of the time.

Death on the Nile is just a classic of mystery fiction. And a good place to start if you're interested.
