If you go to a kid and say, "Think about what you are getting with a scholarship to Michigan. Look around. Read about us. Think about the level of the quality of education you are going to receive here. For free. When you leave Ann Arbor, you will be prepared physically AND mentally and positioned for success in any avenue you choose as an adult. Not every school can truly offer what we offer at the level we offer it. Your athletic prowess has opened this door for you, and you need to very seriously consider walking through it and not leaving until you have a degree from our institution."

That's better than "Let's face it. You're too dumb to get in here, but you can play ball so we'll take you."
