I personally like both. his narrative through the movie gives some subtle insights to things going on which the viewer might miss out on otherwise.

but i do admit that in a few places it gets in the way. sometimes less really is more. and I also like the version w/ the "black unicorn" deleted scene inserted. It helps foreshadow something at the end of the movie . . .
