The point that I'm surprised I'm not seeing debated more is the one I raised last week, which is whether there is any point in having this rule going

forward. Again, not arguing that they shouldn't be punished if they broke the rule. But practically speaking if each team gets to choose and prepare their own balls, why can't they make them exactly to their own preference. The rule made sense when both teams were playing with a ball prepared by the home team (you need guidelines so that the home team doesn't have an undue advantage). But if both teams get to make the ball to their exact preference (regardless of psi) why would that be unfair to anyone? The rule is just dumb.
