Nailclipping is almost always why I get bitten or scratched by the cats.

Even if you don't quick a nail, most cats just don't like being held in the position necessary for trimming nails and *really* don't like having their toes pushed around. :-)
The other bites were just "I said put. me. down. FIVE TIMES!" followed by a nip.
Except Gossamer. Gossamer just doesn't like anyone but my wife. So he's reached out and scratched me for no reason a few times. :-)
