Everyone knew it was going to him. Catch them off guard and lock in time for 4th down if you need it

The concept was right. The execution was wrong. If he gets stopped, you must call time out. Meaning 3rd down must be a pass play because you can't stop the clock. This gave you 3plays with all options on the table. Russell just missed.
