That was Caroll's defense but I don't buy it.

They snapped with 25 seconds left. So, they would have snapped again around 8. Barring something unforeseen, they would have plenty of time to call timeout to get in the third play.
I think that Belichick's decision not to call timeout worked like an eephus pitch. It messed Seattle's coaches up.
