Basicaslly, they have to tell you who the debt was incurred with and its amount., and also their identity (so you can check whether they are a l

licenced debt collector)

They're not supposed to call you until they have made a reasonable effort to notify you of the debt in writing.

You can require them to contact you only in writing (but to do so, you'll have to give them a correct mailing address)
