It looks like the area penned in between the Santa Monica Freeway, the Harbor Freeway, and the 101 is getting a much needed revitalization. New buildings like the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the new LAPD headquarters, coupled with classic buildings like the May Co Building, the Eastern Building, the Bradbury, and LA City Hall... it looks like L.A. is finally getting back to that downtown core it deserves.

I agree with everything you say. I'll add that, while gentrification is bad, this DTLA stuff is mostly replacing nothing with something - con_carne Feb 5, 11:17 2

  - Well the good thing about these buildings is they tend to be steel reinforced. The most at risk buildings are unreinforced brick or concrete - con_carne Feb 5, 11:38
